Experience cultural diversity
If you’re looking for cultural diversity, in Rhineland-Palatinate you’ll definitely be in the right place. In Trier, Germany’s oldest city, you can marvel at impressive Roman structures such as the Porta Nigra. Explore small, romantic towns and fairytale castles. Enjoy fantastic vistas along the Rhine and Mosel Rivers. The region’s numerous vineyards are great places for lingering and savoring as 65 percent of all German wines come from Rhineland-Palatinate.

Besides its flair for innovation, Rhineland has other things to offer, too, with family friendliness being a major priority for us. Outside of day-to-day work, your new home has a variety of excursion destinations to tempt you with.
A great place for living and working
Rhineland-Palatinate offers everything that makes a place good for working. Compared to Germany as a whole, Rhineland-Palatinate has particularly low unemployment. To ensure their needs for skilled workers are met, businesses offer individual support for their employees. The German Federal Vacation Act provides for at least four weeks of paid vacation per year. That makes for a lot of time for family, friends, and recreation.
Celebrate like the locals
Is it Fastnacht or Fassenacht? With us, the names for Carnival in Rhineland-Palatinate vary by region, though we all share the same “let the fools rule” spirit. We celebrate our Carnival with colorful events and fantasy-filled parades, and our state stays colorful even after Carnival season. The special Rhine in Flames event sees tens of thousands of people swarm to the Middle Rhine Valley to gaze at the numerous fireworks shooting up high along the river. And in the Eifel region, the Nürburgring racetrack boasts motorsport and one of the largest open-air festivals in Germany.
